Dainty Baby Girl | Airdrie Newborn Photographer | Lace and Locket Photo

This sweet girl is the baby sister of an adorable little guy I photographed a couple years ago. Mum had booked me for Holiday Family Portraits when she was in her third trimester and decided it was time to get this little miss booked in. She was a Christmas baby just like her brother.

Mama from this Airdrie newborn Photography session was wide open about the style and colours she wanted. This is always so fun because it gives me free reign to do what I want creatively and I love that. She did stipulate that she liked neutrals, which is great because I don’t really have a lot of bold, bright colours to begin with.

This little fella was a dream for his Calgary newborn session and can we talk about the tones in this stunning photo of him with this gorgeous mama? After we did the family portraits, mum and dad passed out for a much-needed nap while I worked with this little ball of love. I am so honoured when that happens.

This babe was born at the end of August but the fall vibes of this Calgary newborn portrait session are perfect. He was happy to do any pose, and he was so sweet. Look at his little lippies.

Your newborn portrait session begins the moment you book, when I send a questionnaire asking if there’s anything super important you want included, or what colours or styles you’d like. We match or coordinate to the baby’s nursery, or to your home, so that when you go to display the images in your home they all flow together.

This little dude…he made me W O R K. He was not into having his photograph taken by me and that trend lasted right through to his first birthday photos.

This incredible client that booked me also owns a little business called Squishy and Bean, check out her stuff and support her little shop!

You may remember the gorgeous maternity session we did a few months back, Fall Maternity Portraits in YYC. These kids are so beautiful, it’s ridiculous.

Seriously, this little one with his lippies and his cheekies. His Airdrie newborn portrait session was a rocky one because he wasn’t into me, but dang, he cute.

Little Sisters' Newborn Portraits | Airdrie Newborn Photographer | Lace & Locket Photo

My, house newborn portrait sessions change when you’re not in the middle of a pandemic. When this sweet girl’s big sister came to the studio in 2021, things were a little different. That being said, I was so happy to have her parents back because they are just absolute gems of people.

When a big sibling comes for sibling portraits, it can be daunting. There is a window of time where they want to participate but are too young to actually HOLD baby, and then the window after that is that they want nothing to do with listening or sitting or cooperating in any capacity at all.

This sweet girl was all ready to be in photos with her baby sister and I was here for it. This has got to be the cutest sibling photo I have ever photographed in my studio. Usually I have to photoshop this one.

This sweet babe was so good to me. She let me do almost anything and she looked divine in all the props I pulled for her. Mama wanted to incorporate florals and I had just ordered this new black & white floral set I hadn’t gotten to use yet and this girl knocked it right out of the park!

Alice and I have been friends for quite some time, years if we think about it. We both started working at a Vet clinic in Calgary where we bonded over our love of animals. I had a black border Collie, she got a little black pit bull puppy who was SO CUTE. Eventually I left the clinic and we stayed in contact. We eventually met our husbands but Alice came to my first babe’s baby shower and had given us the outfit we brought our first daughter home in! The moral of this story, is that I was honoured that when Alice got pregnant with her own babe, she asked ME to do her newborn photos. She’s also a newborn photographer (you can check out her work here !)

We did Alice’s maternity session back in May at Fish Creek Park in Calgary. That’s probably my favourite park. Her maternity session is definitely one of my absolute favourites I’ve done from there.

When I asked Alice what she had envisioned for her daughter’s session she wanted golds, whites, soft pinks and golds. No problem. Babe made me W O R K but we got it done and when I got her birth announcement in the mail I felt so proud of the shots I had gotten because her birth announcements were S T U N N I N G .

Sweet Raspberries | Lace & Locket Photo | Airdrie Newborn Photographer | Airdrie, AB

This sweet girl’s mama reached out to me right after Christmas hoping to snag a last minute spot for her soon-to-arrive baby girl’s newborn session. They had just moved across country and things can be pushed to the back burner, totally understandable. I was able to get her in and just in time as she gave birth not too long after. I had just gotten some new backdrop fabrics in and mama gave me the all clear to go to town with my own creativity during her session. LIKE WINNING THE PHOTOGRAPHER LOTTERY with this one hahaha. It was so so so much fun photographing this sweet doll.

Funny enough the little bed in the cream coloured photo had arrived THAT DAY and I was so excited to use it I simply couldn’t wait. It arrived while i was shooting so while babe was taking a snack break I ran outside to unpack it and use it! She made me work for it but it turned out so so sweet.

Because Dad had to work the day we chose to the session, I was super ok with having them come back for the family portion. I know that living in Alberta a lot of parents work up North so I try to accommodate their schedules as best I can. The parent shots don’t generally take too long so they were in and out in 20 minutes!
