Dainty Baby Girl | Airdrie Newborn Photographer | Lace and Locket Photo

This sweet girl is the baby sister of an adorable little guy I photographed a couple years ago. Mum had booked me for Holiday Family Portraits when she was in her third trimester and decided it was time to get this little miss booked in. She was a Christmas baby just like her brother.

Mama from this Airdrie newborn Photography session was wide open about the style and colours she wanted. This is always so fun because it gives me free reign to do what I want creatively and I love that. She did stipulate that she liked neutrals, which is great because I don’t really have a lot of bold, bright colours to begin with.

This sweet boy came along with his family who were the SWEETEST people I have ever met. I know, I say that every time. But seriously. I was so proud of this little dude’s newborn portrait session. Mama snagged a Black Friday sale and got her whole gallery!

Each Airdrie Newborn Photography session is done in my studio. I have a huge collection of props, wraps, outfits and other items to make your newborn photo session exactly what you want it to be. Airdrie Maternity & Newborn Photographer | Spring Maternity & Newborn Baby A | Lace & Locket Photo

This is the sweet babe from my maternity session blogged a few sessions back! You can find those Mountain Maternity Photo images here. This darling girl’s session was SOOOO gorgeous, Mama brought this gorgeous floral muslin blanket for us to use and I am so smitten with how these images turned out. Mama wanted to use soft pinks & whites, florals and little Miss A knocked it out of the park. Even Big Brother was a blast to work with, he was so happy to be a part of the session!

This post showcases the flow of a regular newborn session - we start with family portraits, followed by sibling portraits and then the solo baby images come after that. This is so that we can get those out of the way, and you can relax and maybe even catch some Z’s while I work with babe. This is also because big siblings also have a shorter attention span and they get bored quick, so we try to keep it fun and engaging to do the sibling and family portraits before they decide they want to peace out!

This little darling was absolutely precious. Her mama got a maternity and newborn package and the day we had originally scheduled her Calgary maternity portraits, it ended up being -30 degrees so we had to reschedule the following weekend - when it was ONLY -10 HAHA. It actually wasn’t that bad.

Little Miss made her grand entrance and she was an absolute delight.

Guitar Baby | Airdrie Newborn Photographer | Lace & Locket Photo | Airdrie, AB

This sweet girl came to see me this past week and she brought along her older sister whom I photographed a couple years back. Their daddy custom makes guitars (you can check out his incredible work here) and for both sessions he brought along this guitar he handmade. It was really lovely to have a second crack at this shot so you can see them side by side, a glow up for myself if you will!

Both girls were absolutely glorious the entire session, big sister was so ready to smile and hold baby sister I bet she would have just kept doing it all day if didn’t move on.

Mama wanted to do fall colours for this sweet little October babe and I was here for it!

Sweet Raspberries | Lace & Locket Photo | Airdrie Newborn Photographer | Airdrie, AB

This sweet girl’s mama reached out to me right after Christmas hoping to snag a last minute spot for her soon-to-arrive baby girl’s newborn session. They had just moved across country and things can be pushed to the back burner, totally understandable. I was able to get her in and just in time as she gave birth not too long after. I had just gotten some new backdrop fabrics in and mama gave me the all clear to go to town with my own creativity during her session. LIKE WINNING THE PHOTOGRAPHER LOTTERY with this one hahaha. It was so so so much fun photographing this sweet doll.

Baby E - Airdrie Newborn Photographer

Funny enough the little bed in the cream coloured photo had arrived THAT DAY and I was so excited to use it I simply couldn’t wait. It arrived while i was shooting so while babe was taking a snack break I ran outside to unpack it and use it! She made me work for it but it turned out so so sweet.

Because Dad had to work the day we chose to the session, I was super ok with having them come back for the family portion. I know that living in Alberta a lot of parents work up North so I try to accommodate their schedules as best I can. The parent shots don’t generally take too long so they were in and out in 20 minutes!
