Baby S | Airdrie Maternity & Newborn Photographer | Lace & Locket Photo

This sweet babe came after mum did her mountain maternity session with me in Banff in February. It was beautiful and the weather was absolutely perfect.

Here are a few of her Banff Mountain Maternity Portrait Session, isn’t she absolutely gorgeous?

Anyways, back to her son’s newborn portraits, because he’s so cute.

I can’t tell you how much I love when folks bring cultural and/or sentimental pieces to photograph. This family is Sikh and brought some things to be photographed, as well as their wedding bands.

Of course when I photograph sentimental images, I do some simpler, less “themed” images as well.

IVF Baby Boy & His Big Brother | Lace & Locket Photo | Calgary Newborn Photographer | Calgary, Alberta

I can’t explain how much I absolutely LOVE when clients bring in props, especially when it’s their baby’s photo of them being created, literally.

This little dude’s BIG BROTHER came to me a few years back, but mum never thought to bring his IVF photos or needles with them. That’s okay. We got it when we did it the second time.

I don’t want to make a baby’s session all about one thing, I want you to have variety in your gallery so we did a mix of navy and grey for the first part of babe’s session. Then we went on to work on the IVF baby photographs.

A behind-the-scenes image that mum took while I was working with her sweet babe.

The above is a behind the scenes video I shot while creating this IVF newborn photo for mum. I enjoy making these to post on my social media while I’m working.

If you are interested in having your IVF baby photographed by me, please don’t hesitate to reach out. If you have other props you’d like to include, I am always happy to talk about what that might look like for you.

Floral Summer Newborn | Lace & Locket Photo | Airdrie, Alberta | Airdrie Newborn Photographer

Alice and I have been friends for quite some time, years if we think about it. We both started working at a Vet clinic in Calgary where we bonded over our love of animals. I had a black border Collie, she got a little black pit bull puppy who was SO CUTE. Eventually I left the clinic and we stayed in contact. We eventually met our husbands but Alice came to my first babe’s baby shower and had given us the outfit we brought our first daughter home in! The moral of this story, is that I was honoured that when Alice got pregnant with her own babe, she asked ME to do her newborn photos. She’s also a newborn photographer (you can check out her work here !)

We did Alice’s maternity session back in May at Fish Creek Park in Calgary. That’s probably my favourite park. Her maternity session is definitely one of my absolute favourites I’ve done from there.

When I asked Alice what she had envisioned for her daughter’s session she wanted golds, whites, soft pinks and golds. No problem. Babe made me W O R K but we got it done and when I got her birth announcement in the mail I felt so proud of the shots I had gotten because her birth announcements were S T U N N I N G .

Newborn Sessions are done in my home studio in Airdrie, Alberta.
