Lisa knocked her session so far out of the park here, I don’t even know how I would ever top it. The colours and the lighting were absolutely fantastic. She wanted to do some simpler images at first in her own outfit and she brought a hat. This session has made me a hat person haha! So gorgeous! This session was shot at Fish Creek Provincial Park in south Calgary.
THIS. GIRL. NAILED. HER. SESSION. I know I say that every time, but she’s a literal goddess.
S told me she had found me on Instagram a few years back but she wasn’t pregnant and so she followed me, and waited until the day she would be. And I am so happy she did. Her and her little family were such a delight to work with.
As with my other mountain maternity work, S had her makeup and hair done by Sarah with S.Kay Makeup Artistry in Calgary. We came to meet in Banff and it was actually quite cloudy, a little windy, but not too bad. This session took place in early June.
Before her session was to take place, S asked if we could do a gender reveal for her family. She hadn’t told any of her family what they were having and she had the most adorable idea, using coloured flower petals! Of course many of us have heard about some gender reveal ideas that have been scary, or down right dangerous and so I am very careful what I will or won’t do - I said we can absolutely do this but we would have to pick up all the petals after the fact (they were artificial) because I wanted to guarantee that whatever we did, we left no trace on Mother Earth. So after this next photo, we did a real quick 100 petal pick-up hahah!)

Then we moved onto just S and spoiling her with gorgeous images, in this gorgeous custom made gown by a lovely lady who lives in Calgary. Supporting local in every way I can is my JAM. This boho gown was made just for my clients and I love it.
Sarah’s work on S’s hair and makeup makes me swoon to this day <3 That red lip though!
Yep, I for sure was IN the lake to get this shot. It was absolutely worth it. And this is why I bring spare pants to sessions. Can’t do this in winter!

I always want to capture the stunning fall colours here in Alberta but whenever a client books a Calgary maternity session by the time it rolls around the snow has hit! This year I wanted to be prepared and make sure I was able to capture the colours in time so I ran a model call and that’s where I met this gorgeous mama and her beautiful family.
We met at Fish Creek Park in October and I don’t think it could have been a more perfect evening.
This mama was down for all my crazy ideas, including getting into the creek in OCTOBER. It was cold but she said it was totally worth it!
Marla was supposed to come for the model call just herself but when she sent me her photo and I saw her gorgeous family I wanted to try my hand at getting a family photo of a family of 5 with one on the way. It was tricky for SURE with a toddler but if she can do it every day, I could do it for 20 minutes. Totally paid off.
Naturally she knocked it out of the park, as did her family, but her solo photos were absolute perfection. I wish I could take photos of some people pregnant year round!

These mini sessions are designed to capture your beautiful bump against a stunning fall backdrop, before it blows away with the wind for another year. Normally when folks book their maternity session in around September/October it’s either still too green or the wind comes one day and just blows all the leaves away before we even get a chance to capture it! Fall lasts but a moment here in Alberta.
These sessions allow you to capture your bump (with your family included- or not if you want!) and give you the ability to spoil yourself, treat yourself this pregnancy with some gorgeous photos. There is an option to add on Hair & Makeup, purchase your entire gallery or just keep it simple.
Maternity gowns will be reserved ahead of time so that gowns are only being worn once to adhere to Covid sanitization guidelines. This means that some gowns will be reserved before others so if there’s one you’re interested in, get on messaging me to reserve it ASAP! Once your time slot has been selected you will get a link to the maternity gowns available.

Alice’s session was one of the first maternity sessions I did after the country started opening back up after the COVID-19 shut down during the spring. I had some pent up energy or creativity or whatever you want to call it. I was so excited to get out and shoot some golden hour beauty but I was only met with grey skies. I made it work. It turned out gorgeous and her session went off beautifully. We did her session at one of my favourite parks, Fish Creek Park in Calgary. Alice is also a newborn photographer so the pressure was on!
