Rainy Mountain Session | Banff Mountain Maternity Photographer | Lace & Locket Photo

This beautiful human booked me for her maternity session in early summer July. She actually travelled from Vancouver for a little baby moon with her hubby before baby was born and she wanted to book a mountain maternity session in Banff. It always rains in Vancouver, she wanted something different.

Naturally, it rained the day of her session. Poured.
Our session was supposed to start at 7 pm, and we met at our agreed upon spot in Cascade Ponds, Banff National Park. The mosquitoes and the rain seemed to be competing on which would be the heaviest thing in the air that night. I was panicky. These people came all the way from Vancouver for me and these mountains and it was just GREY and wet.

The weather network told me that it would stop raining at 8 pm, so I asked them if they wanted to go get a coffee or a tea in Banff and we could re-convene at 8 pm and see what it would be like then. It worked! The sun came out! It was actually a stunning night after that, except for the company we kept with the mosquitoes…

This beautiful mama wore gowns available in my client closet and her hair and makeup were provided by S. Kay Makeup Artistry.
